Okaloosa RevFest Schedule is Ready – Ft. Walton Beach Rocks!
The schedule for the fifth annual Okaloosa RevFest is here! RevFest gears up at noon this Saturday, April 8th, and it won’t let up for a second until El Dub knocks off at 2 AM! Brought to you by New Earth Army, sponsors and partners include 99 Rock, KC’s SandBar & Grill, Cox, Receptor Sound and Lighting, Auralimage, 850ME, 30A Songwriter Radio, Armored Amplifiers, and Special Forces Association Ch. 7.
There will be a special Kids’ Corner with games, arts & crafts, face-painting and more. Meanwhile, the face-melting actual starts tonight (Thursday, April 6th), when Post Pluto hits the Funky Blues Shack, and Friday Ajeva continues to heat things up at AJ’s in Grayton Beach.
Music bounces back and forth between the 99Rock Stage and the Beachcomber Destin Stage, so you don’t have to miss a single note. The Wide Open play a soulful blend of blues and Americana next, followed by Continuum’s own “electronic soulk.” The Strange Tang duo (from Lexington and Atlanta) offer their hybrid hip hop before Mobile’s Paw Paw’s Medicine Cabinet injects some Southern pop rock into the equation.
Post Pluto plays their funky rock next. Then it’s time for amazing space jazz from Captain Green, invading from Baton Rouge. Ajeva, visiting from St. Petersburg, claim to spread “Interdimensional Gospel Funk,” which is accurate. Next up are your hosts and the force behind RevFest, New Earth Army. Michael Flatau and crew mix jazz, jam, funk and blues in just the right proportions. And saxophone player Ben Johnson is an artist at large.
Come Back Alice, also St. Pete denizens, will be ready to rock. Tony Tyler, Dani Jaye and band are truly explosive; they just played a monster Allman Brothers tribute. And Dani Jaye is also an artist at large, a triple-threat on violin, guitar and vocals. It’s a full-frontal dance party next as Big Sam’s Funky Nation brings the party from New Orleans. See if you can keep up with Big Sam’s dancing!
The Heritage Band has the perfect prescription of reggae, rock, beach and surf music to ease you into the late night, followed by the one and only El Dub, continuing those music threads as a one-man looping band. Add Hub Chason to the mix as the third artist at large, and you’ve got RevFest!
Need more? Captain Green can hook you up. They play Sunday at The Funky Blues Shack.
THEN you can sleep!
