ODESZA Releases New Single “Line of Sight” Heading into Summer Festival Schedule
Oh ODESZA. The duo from Seattle has a hold of my heart strings in a wonderful way. So, like many fans, I have been on pins and needles anxiously awaiting new music from them. They have been teasing and releasing new music at shows recently, but with no official releases since In Return in 2014, it has been a long, hard wait. Until yesterday.
They finally confirmed that we would be getting new music today in video yesterday that featured tweets and messages from fans begging for new music. This came after they posted an empty Spotify playlist that many suspected was a hint at new tunes. Not ones to get lazy with their releases, in an interesting twist Harrison and Clay hit up different radio stations in their hometown of Seattle simultaneously to drop their new single, “Line of Sight.”
It’s primed for radio play, much like their last smash hit “Say My Name,” so expect to hear a lot of it this summer. It’s fluid with perfect synth and their signature heavy drum lines. Backed by British vocalist WYNNE and Australia’s multi-instrumentalists Mansionair, like most ODESZA tracks it taps into your emotions like a gut punch of musical energy. There’s no official release date yet for a full album, but if this new song is any indication of what we will see on a new album, it’s sure to make the long wait worth it.
The best way to listen to ODESZA is live, and there are certainly plenty of opportunities to check them out at a festival near you this summer. Listen to their latest release “Line of Sight” below and check them out at the following festivals. Let us know what you think and where you will be checking them out. We can’t wait to see you there!
