Shovels & Rope Announce Inaugural High Water Festival
Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, a.k.a. Shovels & Rope, have curated quite a lineup for the inaugural High Water Festival in their hometown of Charleston. The two-day event will take place in beautiful North Charleston’s Riverfront Park the weekend of April 22-23, 2017 and will host over 20 acts across two stages. Headliners include The Avett Brothers, The Shins and of course Shovels & Rope, who will also be making an appearance with Shrimp Records Family Band. The rest of the lineup is absolutely incredible, featuring Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Dawes, Jump, Little Children, Lucius, Margo Price, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaries and Deer Tick, just to name a few.
In a press release, the band said, “This festival is a chance for us to have some fun and show people a good time in our own backyard while also supporting the local businesses and non-profits in our community.” So they are making sure that the festival is unique to Charleston by featuring Charleston chef-curated dining experiences, local craft beer, wine, and cocktails immersions, and more. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit local non-profits The Green Heart Project, Charleston Waterkeeper, and Water Mission.
Tickets go on sale this Friday 11/18 at 10 AM for the incredible early-bird price of $99.50; there are also VIP packages and some sick hotel deals on the festival’s website. To make sure you keep updated on all things High Water fest, make sure to follow the fest on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
