The Musical Version is Six Degrees of Joe Marcinek
Bullets can’t stop him! Rockets can’t stop him! Isn’t there some way to keep Joe Marcinek from assembling ridiculously awesome all-star ensembles and playing all over the country?
Fortunately, the answer is NO!
Marcinek is back at it. He had several amazing groups for a variety of shows this summer. Now he plans to invade Colorado for four huge nights. Look at the players he has amassed for these dates!
Marcinek, of course, plays guitar and sings. At the drum kit will be Allen Aucoin of The Disco Biscuits, with Nicholas Gerlach (Turbo Suit) on saxophone. Shaun Martin (Snarky Puppy) will man the keyboards, and Tim Philpott rounds out the band on bass.
New month, new all-star lineup. October in Florida finds Marcinek with regular collaborator Steve Molitz, the keyboard and synthesizer wizard behind Particle. He has also played with Phil & Friends and the Stratosphere All-Stars. Freekbass brings his non-stop funk to the party, and Pete Koopmans (Family Groove Company) is at the drum kit. They hit Florida for several dates before heading to the Northeast.
On the way to Florida, he will stop in at Good Ol’ Days in Cumming GA to play with Mike Wilson (guitar), Mac Schmitz (drums), and Jimmy Lynch (bass) of Atlanta’s powerhouse jamsters Voodoo Visionary. Marcinek just can’t help himself!
The Northeast run (OH, NY, PA) features Marty Sammon on keyboards and Rick King on drums. Sammon is a member of Buddy Guy’s band. King played drums previously with the legendary Koko Taylor. He has also performed with Giles Corey’s Stone Soul (Little did, also) and Lubriphonic, a tremendous band with Corey and Ron Haynes (check out their album Soul Solution).
The shows at the Dunedin Brewery are part of Oktobeerfest. The show on Friday, October 7, will be a special P-Funk / Tribute to Bernie Worrell set with their good friend Meesta Juanjamon (The Juanjamon Band) on tenor sax, EWI and vocals! Freekbass is a Dunedin Brewery regular, always leaving the place in shambles!
The Oktobeerfest line-up also includes: Trae Pierce & the T-Stones, DeadPhish Orchestra, Tropidelic, Holey Miss Moley, The Galbraith Group, and DJ 45Revolver.

And Marcinek is an artist at large at this year’s Hometeam New Year’s Rally in Lakeland FL December 29 to January 1! No wonder he loves singing his song: “60 Degrees (In January)!”
