End Your Summer at Mazzstock Music Festival 2016!
This year’s Mazzstock Music Festival is less than a month away! From August 26-28th, the Hudson Valley area of New York will host three days of music, art, campfires and worry-free fun. It’s the perfect cure for the end-of-summer blues. Have you purchased your tickets yet?!
Mazzstock began in 2008, originally as founder “Big Lee” Mazzola’s birthday celebration. But before long, the festival morphed into the epic three-day party that it is today. The annual event will host a line-up of over 30 bands, local food and craft vendors, body painting, silent discos, yoga, art installations and more. Music varies from jam bands to reggae to alternative and beyond. All day until late night, live bands rule the festival grounds. But, after hours, musicians and attendees alike congregate at the campfire to jam until sunrise.
Savannah native Zach Deputy is among this year’s headliners. Deputy is a music festival alum, having appeared at Mountain Jam, Gathering of the Vibes and All Good Music Festival, to name a few. Deputy’s live performances are always unique due to his use of looping technology. He uses each of his multiple microphones differently and utilizes vocal synthesizers. He plays multiple instruments and even beatboxes. Deputy’s rhythmic sound is culturally inspired, often incorporating Latin and Caribbean influence. Zach Deputy is an artist who belongs on the stage.
Other headlining acts include the funky, reggae-rock group Spiritual Rez, a band that aspires to create a live music experience where you simply cannot remain seated. You also won’t want to miss Upstate New York’s 3 (Three), who made a name for themselves after performing at Woodstock ’94. The band describes themselves as “dark yet uplifting,” a contradiction that results in raw, genuine progressive rock. Tribute bands such as Gratefully Yours (Grateful Dead), Feast of Friends (The Doors) and Mazztallica (Metallica) are sure to be nostalgic crowd-pleasers. Check out the entire lineup below!
