Forecastle Fest 2015 Five Wave Lineup Announcement + Ticket Info
Returning once again to the Louisville Waterfront Park, Forecastle Festival has released the first wave of its 2015 acts. This year marks Forecastle’s 13th year running, which will take place on July 17-19, showcasing how far the Louisville, Kentucky, staple has come since it debuted in the much smaller Tyler Park in 2002. Festival attendees can bask in the twinkling lights of the downtown Louisville cityscape as they explore the richly diverse music, art, and culinary offerings the festival has to offer.
Louisville natives My Morning Jacket headline Forecastle once again this year, along with Grammy award-winning newcomer Sam Smith, and festival favorites Widespread Panic and Modest Mouse. Two other regional favorites round out the excellent headlining announcements, with these being Cage the Elephant (Kentucky) and Houndmouth (Indiana), both bands on the cusp of dropping new albums just in time for festival season.
Wilco also will be featured at Forecastle this year, with other notable artists including Shovels & Rope, RL Grime, Portugal. The Man, and First Aid Kit. Check out the first wave lineup below, with more to follow in the future!
Kentucky is perhaps most famous for its horses and its bourbon, and one of those beloved exports will be featured at Forecastle in prominence this July. The Bourbon Lodge returns to the festival, providing festival goers the chance to sample bourbon, learn the history of the popular Southern liquor, and also indulge in bourbon-centric recipes. Attendees can purchase a Bourbon Lodge membership via Ticketmaster in advanced. Local craft beers and local food trucks will also be set up in Waterfront Park and vendors will also have their arts and crafts wares for sale as well.
Interested in attending Forecastle Festival this summer? General admission tickets are on sale now through the festival website, starting at $183.50 plus fees for all three days. A VIP option is also available for $399.5o plus fees. If you aren’t sure where to stay in Louisville, general admission and VIP lodging packages are also available starting at $1399.00 plus fees. These packages include admission to the festival along with a guaranteed hotel room and two festival t-shirts. Late-night and single-day tickets will be going on sale in the near future.
