Firefly Music Festival 2019 Lineup – Fans Are Not Happy

Firefly Music Festival just released their 2019 lineup, and the initial reaction from Firefly Fest’s fans is nothing short of catastrophic. Headliners include Panic! At the Disco, Travis Scott and Post Malone, which seems to have caught even long-time Firefly Fest lovers quite off guard. One of the biggest changes that seems to have fans upset is that Firefly Festival used to be four days; now it is only three. Across all social media, there has been an absolute uproar about Firefly Festival’s 2019 lineup. From Reddit to Facebook, fans are just not feeling it.

One of the other main complaints from fans come with the lack of alternative rock. Firefly has a history of booking some of rock and roll’s greats, from Paul McCartney to Arctic Monkeys. While this year doesn’t have as many rock and alternative rock bands as in the past, there are still some very solid names. Courtney Barnett, Vampire Weekend, Soja and Young the Giant will all be at Firefly. These names aren’t enough of a pull for some fans who want nothing to do with the fest being held in Dover, Delaware.

There are some amazing acts on Firefly’s lineup: Death Cab for Cutie, Brockhamptom, Bishop Briggs, Griz, Zedd, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Sir Sly, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, and Hippo Campus, just to name a few. That doesn’t seem to be enough for some of the festival’s longtime attendees to return in 2019.
