Voodoo Festival – New Orleans, Halloween, Soul Food & Live Music
Is there anything that sounds more appealing than experiencing Halloween weekend in New Orleans? What if there were huge art installations, delicious food, and over 60 live performances in just three days? What if some of the artists performing included Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, The Arctic Monkeys, ODEZA, Modest Mouse and the king of Halloween, Marilyn Manson? I can’t think of a better way to spend three days of my life than attending Voodoo Festival in New Orleans on October 26th-28th.
Voodoo Fest has everything going for it: a stacked lineup, an amazing setting, a unique theme, great food, beautiful art, and a beer hall. There are plenty of reasons to be excited for Voodoo Fest. First, they know how to put on a spectacular and interactive music festival. Its inaugural year was back in 1999, when it debuted over Halloween weekends. The annual event has become a tradition to music fans throughout the country and the world. Voodoo Festival is just a year shy of 20 years; not many festivals are able to claim such an impressive milestone. To top it off, Voodoo Fest has been nominated twice for Pollstar’s Music Festival of the Year.
Voodoo Festival is more than just a music fest; it’s an experience. Voodoo does it all: a spectacular setting to celebrate music, art, community, and cuisine — together — all while shrouded in the mystery and adventure that happens while in New Orleans during Halloween.
The lineup is an amazing mix of electronic music, rap, jam bands, rock and everything in between. Minus the monster size names I mentioned earlier who grace the top two lines of the lineup, the undercard is stacked. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Space Jesus, Lettuce, White Reaper, Sofi Tukker and Mt. Joy are enough to get me excited. Add in The Revivalists playing in their hometown, and you’re absolutely in for a treat. Check out the full lineup at the bottom of the page! Tickets are up for sale now; get them now prior to the price increases on 9/14 and before they sell out like they do every year.
